Since May 2023, Jens Elstermeier has served as Head of Business Development & Strategy, Defense & Intelligence at CGI in Germany, where he oversees strategic customer planning and key programs for the German and NATO defense business.
From 2013 to 2023, Jens led CGI’s German defense sector, supporting clients such as the German Federal Ministry of Defense, the German Armed Forces, NATO, the European External Action Service, the German Foreign Office, and the German Federal Intelligence Service.
He has built a longstanding partnership with NATO, guiding CGI in Germany's involvement in missions in the former Yugoslavia (KFOR) and Afghanistan (ISAF). Within the German defense sector, Jens also advanced CGI’s cybersecurity offerings, including SOC services and CGI eGov360, an IP solution for document management and collaboration.
Over the past four years, he has additionally served as program director for major defense outsourcing projects, with HIL GmbH, the German Armed Forces/BWI and NATO. Jens also acts as program manager for the German Ministry of Defense's digitization initiatives, including the implementation of a new document management system for the Ministry and the Armed Forces.
